iTero Lumina™ Technology

This is our iTero Lumina™ scanner, which we use for initial exams and throughout any treatment. Let's say you need a crown. We use the same wand here, hover over a tooth, and we're able to take an impression, send it over to our milling machine, and then we design and mill. This is one of our technologies at Jorge A. Alvarez DDS that will help make your treatment better and easier.

iTero Lumina™ scanner Technology

Our iTero Lumina™ scanner uses a wand that goes inside the mouth. With this, we're going to hover over the teeth, and we're able to capture an image. In the video above, you will see an image taken on a patient, and it shows us in great detail how the teeth are at the moment, and what conditions are there. This is a great tool.

In case you come in for an exam and I inform you that there's a cavity in the back of a tooth, I'm able to zoom in and show you exactly where this condition is. This is great; in the past, we didn't have this. We had to take a mirror, hold it in the mouth, and show you what's inside. It was very hard for you to discern or see what's going on. With this 3D view, it changes everything. Now we're able to see everything in great detail.

How can the iTero Lumina™ scanner support my dental health?

Tooth Health

With iTero Lumina™ scanner, we're able to focus on certain areas, like it says here, tooth health. With the Iterina, it actually takes pictures as we go around the mouth. It's taking about 6,000 pictures per second or more. That's very great detail, and it's excellent for showing and illustrating to patients what's going on.

Gum Health

We can also do gum health. In this view, I'm able to focus on the gum area and let you know if there's any inflammation or infection going on, and what kind of treatment you're going to need.

Bite Analysis

We're also able to take a look at your bite, which is really great, and it gives us some markings to show us if there are areas where the bite is stronger than others.

Alignment

We also have alignment, which means how your teeth are aligned. If we take this off here, it shows us if the teeth are in the right position. This is great to determine if you're going to need any kind of aligner therapy.
